I am about to have an important birthday (heh), so I needed to renew my license.
I went to the Secretary of State. By the time I left, at least 40 minutes had passed. How long did it actually take to renew my license?
About four f*cking minutes. Would have been less if the lady who was helping me wasn't also trying to help one of her coworkers figure out someone else's charges.
The rest of that time was spent waiting in line or in the lobby. I waited in the first line for what felt like FOREVER, only to reach the counter to be given a number and told to wait in the lobby. What the hell. Why don't you just have a line for people who need to renew their licenses? I'm sure that there are a BUNCH of people doing that.
When my number was finally called up, I walked up to a different counter and was asked for $18, two signatures, and then sent to the famous blue wall for the photo. The employees seem so unhappy there ... they probably just take terrible photos on purpose just to f*ck with people. Ugh. My new license is going to look so terrible. How embarrassing. My hair was lopsided, as were my glasses, and she didn't even announce that she was taking the picture. Dammit.
Also, they don't take Visa. Who the F*CK doesn't take Visa?! What the hell.
Not a pleasant event. And now, time for me to go to the dentist (hahahhaha, but no, I'm actually serious).
